The Two Fishermen

"The Two Fishermen" is a short story inspired by Italo Calvino's work ‘The Castle of Crossed Destinies’. The story is set on the Italian Riviera, between the city of Marseille, the place of origin of the tarot, and Genoa, Calvino's city of origin. Drawing on Calvino's work, the story tells of an Italian and a French fisherman who meet in a tavern in Genoa. Since they do not speak each other's language, they decide to communicate using tarot cards.
